Common issues & diagnosis
We mainly sell air filter housings for use in collision repairs.
There are no design faults in air filter housings that we’re aware of, but all plastic can become brittle and break with age.
What is the part's function?
The air filter housing encases the engine’s air filter—which is used to filter dust, pollen and other contaminants from air before it enters the combustion chamber.
The housings are strategically designed to facilitate smooth airflow while reducing air intake noise.
How to determine fitment compatibility
Each model generation will have multiple types of air filter housing—on account of different engine types.
The best way to confirm fitment compatibility of an air filter housing is to match the BMW part numbers from the catalogue. This can be done by decoding your vehicle’s VIN in a BMW EPC (electronic part catalogue.)
If you don’t have access to an EPC, provide our team with your vehicle’s 17-digit VIN—and we’ll check our stock for a compatible match.
Interchangeability between models
Some air filter housings are interchangeable between engines within a model generation, as well as between models with similar/alike engines.
